NOVAK (Beňadikovce) - My name is Spencer Homick. I am an American. I am researching my family's heritage, through my father's side. I am trying to locate the records of my great grandmother, Anna Novak. She lists herself as have been from the town "Benyardzkevetzye". We have interpreted this to be "Beňadikovce" following the recommendation of an Slovak historian. He says though, that during the time she lived (which was between 1866 and 1887), there are no records of Anna Novak. I am beginning to learn Slovak, and I also live in Ukraine. Spencer Homick, e-mail (2010-01-14)
NOVAK - My grandmother was Anna Kirila born Jan. 1900 in Zahar Province, Ung. County. Parents: mother Anna Kulik, father Michael Kirila. My granfather was John Hatala, born June 23, 1893, father Joseph Halata, mother Anna Novak. They were married Oct. 23, 1917. My grandfather was born in Spišska Belá. I started to do this when my grandmother was alive and she was very upset over this. There is family still there and there was a son born from my grandfather by another woman. It is not my intent to stir things up there. My grandmother’s sister is Barbara Popp and my grandparents had two children who were born there and died there. I would very much like to trace my family lines. Kathy Foster, PO Box 156, Sulphur Springs, Ind. 47388, USA, e-mail (1999-10-13)

NYAHAY (Ruská Nová Ves) - My father Georgius Ivanko was born in Soosujfalu, Saros Hungary and my understanding is that the new name is: Ruska Nova Ves (Presov). He was born 5 Mar 1888, and the son of Michael Ivanko and his mother's maiden name was Anna Hrarovsky. My mother(?) Catharina Nyahay was also born in Soosujfalu on Feb 6, 1889. Both are deceased. They migrated to the US in the early 1900's and I'm wondering if there is any information that can tell me where the Ivanko's were buried, and if there are any living relatives in Slovakia. Unfortunately, I was never interested in the birth places or where they lived in the old country and I guess that was because I was young and had interest in other things.
